The Cobblemon 1.7.2 Update - January 2026
A minor update adding eight new Pokemon, placeable items like Potions, and a whole host of bug fixes.
The Cobblemon 1.7.2 update is here, bringing a mix of new Pokémon, ride improvements, decorative blocks, AI tweaks, and several long-requested quality-of-life features. This guide breaks down everything added or changed in 1.7.2 so you can quickly see what’s new and how it affects gameplay.
What new Pokémon were added Cobblemon 1.7.2
Cobblemon 1.7.2 expands the Pokédex with new additions from Generation 5 and Generation 6, continuing the steady charge towards finishing the full Pokedex.
Generation 5 Pokémon added in Cobblemon 1.7.2
Black and White favourites, Sawk and Throh, are in Cobblemon as of Cobblemon 1.7.2. You can find them in mountainous environments.

Generation 6 Pokémon
These Pokémon integrate fully with existing Cobblemon systems, including battles, spawning, and evolution mechanics.
New Rideable Pokémon
Two additional Pokémon are now rideable, expanding traversal options and ride variety:

Mantine, in particular, benefits from updated ride animations and improved movement feedback, making aerial and water travel feel smoother.
Ride System Improvements
Cobblemon 1.7 was the riding update, so naturally 1.7.2 comes with tweaks, fixes, and additions to riding.
You can catch up on the riding system by reading our full Guide for it:
Highly Requested: In-Flight Dismounting
A new config option has been added:
- Enable In-Flight Dismounting (default: off)
When enabled, this allows players to dismount while riding a Pokémon in mid-air. This has been one of the most requested riding features following the 1.7 update, but it comes with obvious risks - fall damage. Make sure you have an Elytra or a bucket of water before trying it!
Additional Ride Changes
- Ride style labels are now shown in Pokédex ride stats.
- Ride style icons have been added to the summary GUI.
-
New riding statistics:
-
Distance traveled by Pokémon on land
- Distance traveled by Pokémon in air
- Distance traveled by Pokémon in liquid
-
Ride sounds are now split:
-
Stereo for passengers
- Mono for nearby players This makes riding feel more immersive without overwhelming others.
Partner Mark Added
A new Partner Mark has been introduced.
- Party Pokémon have a very small chance to earn this mark while the player is walking.
- The Pokémon must have sufficient friendship.
This encourages keeping Pokémon in your party long-term and adds another subtle layer of progression for dedicated trainers.
New Decorative Blocks & Furniture
Cobblemon 1.7.2 adds several new decorative and building-focused features, especially for players who enjoy customization and base building.
Saccharine Wood Furniture (Adorn)
- New Saccharine wood furniture has been added for Adorn, expanding interior design options.
Decorative Item Blocks
The following items now have decorative block models:
- Potions (Potion, Super, Hyper, Max)
- Status items (Antidote, Awakening, Burn Heal, Ice Heal, Paralyze Heal, Full Heal)
- Battle items (X items, Dire Hit, Guard Spec)
-
Held items and others:
-
Weakness Policy
- Blunder Policy
- Cleanse Tag
- Spell Tag
- Ether, Elixir, Max Ether, Max Elixir
These are purely visual but greatly improve the look of storage rooms, labs, and shops.

Saccharine & Sinister Tea Changes
Several updates focus on Saccharine blocks and sinister tea mechanics.
New Sinister Tea Seasonings
- Mental Herb – Grants Mental Restoration I for 10 seconds (helps prevent Insomnia)
- White Herb – Removes negative effects
- Milk / Moomoo Milk – Removes effects just like Cow's milk
Dispenser Support Added
Dispensers can now automate interactions with Saccharine blocks:
- Apply Honey Bottles to Saccharine Logs
- Wash honey off Saccharine Slathered Logs
- Apply and remove honey from Saccharine Leaves
Additionally, items obtained from interacting with Saccharine Leaves are now placed into the active hotbar slot, if possible.
Pokémon Model & Animation Updates
Visual polish continues with updated models and animations.
Model Updates
Animation Changes
- Mantine (ride animations)
- Honchkrow (ride animations)
- Flygon (ride jump animation)
- Croagunk
- Toxicroak
These updates improve consistency and bring older assets closer to Cobblemon’s current visual standard.
Battle AI Improvements
Battles see subtle but meaningful AI enhancements:
- Smarter thresholds for switching Pokémon, reducing unnecessary swaps
- AI now prioritizes maximum damage when at low HP (if not switching), improving endgame decision-making
These changes make AI battles feel more decisive and less erratic. The battle system is constantly worked on with more improvements expected in the next update.
